I have attached two files where I
have scanned in material my mother had
researched. It is useful in that it shows the
birth dates of the various people. I took notes
from talking to my mother some years ago when
she asked me to drive her to a few places
including the old homesteads. So I have the year
of death for your grandmother's brothers and
sisters:
Margaret - 1971; James 1973; Edward 1918 (Killed
in France WW1; William 1920 (Gassed in trenches
WW1 - died of lung problems); Joseph 1921 (Head
injury in WW1 - later died of brain abscess);
Teresa 1904 (whooping cough); Agnes 1998. Joe
Mangan was the big guy of the crew at 6' 3".
Mother also had me drive her to Cloncurry to the
grave of Teresa Brayton (Boylan). I understand
that she was a first cousin of Teresa Gannon and
that Johnny Boylan, who must have been a
brother, spent summers with the Gannons. You can
read about Teresa Brayton here:

Another useful site to have a look at when you
have time is that of the "Griffith's Valuation".
That was an extensive survey of Ireland
conducted between 1847 and about 1860. Co.
Westmeath was done in 1954, so it is a snapshot
of those who qualified for inclusion at that
time. By entering John Mangan, Co. Westmeath,
Kilbride (Parish) you will find some info about
your great-great-great grandfather! Some of the
side pages are interesting. If you enter James
Daley (spelled with an "e" by the surveyor), Co.
Westmeath, Enniscoffey (Parish) you will find
stuff about the Dalys. James lived on a bit of
land owned by the Gaybrook Demesne. Pretty well
everybody had a landlord then. It is interesting
that the house we got in 1950 was built on part
of that bit of land!! Small world. The site is:

Take care,
